Prairie View Inn Assisted Living is the newest addition to our campus. The facility recently opened on July 7, 2008 "The Inn", as it is often referred as, is the newest assisted living complex in the area.

The Inn is made up of 10 apartment units along with a social room, dining area, business office, private dining room, front & back patios and lobby area. We even have a beauty shop located within the building!

The Inn's apartment units are made up of seven 520 sq. ft. apartments and three 570 sq. ft. apartments. Each apartment has a living room area, bedroom and kitchenette area consisting of a frig/freezer unit, microwave, sink and cabinets. Equipped with their own heating/cooling units, tenants can control the temperatures of their own appartments making it just right for them. The apartments also have private bathrooms complete with recessed showers with grab bars, adjustable shower head and even a fold down shower chair. A medicine cabinet and linen closet is also located in the bathrooms. The apartments come unfurnished allowing each tenant to bring the comforts of their own home in with them.

The social room is the location of many of the scheduled facility activities. Tenants are given a monthly calendar at the beginning of every month and can attend the activities that interest them. Tenants are also able to attend any of the activities or outings that are held at either Prairie View Manor or Prairie View Home.

A private dining room is available to the Tenants to hold special events in. It's perfect for birthday parties, church meetings, card club or just a supper with their family.

The lobby is a wonderful place to sit back and relax! With its vaulted ceilings and lighting the cozy couches make it very easy to sit back and relax while you take in a book or watch a movie on the plasma t.v.. A computer is also available in the lobby area complete with internet access, e-mail capabilities and games.

Destined Designs is the name of the beauty shop located within Prairie View Inn. Crystal George is the licensed cosmetologist who runs the shop and is available 5 days a week for a quick trim, perm, style & set or even a manicure. Located inside right next to the dining room Crystal is easily assessable for all of Prairie View Campus residents, tenants and families. She also has an outside entrance so she can provide services to her own clientele as well. Just call and make an appointment at 729-5565.

Prairie View Inn has their own dining room where Tenants enjoy three home style meals a day. All the meals are "open" meaning they range in length so that if one Tenant is up at 7AM for breakfast yet another at 8AM they both get a warm meal. Breakfast is made to order, just like a restaurant, by the staff when the Tenant arrives in the dining room, while the noon and night meal come over from the home. Homemade salads, some of them are even Tenant recipes, are made special several times a week for our Tenants along with muffins, cookies, bars and pies. Tenants are given several choices during their meals. A choice of at least three entrees & three salads at each meal, we call it restaurant style dining.

Prairie View Inn is staffed 24 hours a day and tenants may have assistance with bathing, dressing, medications and much more. An RN is at the facility on average 20 hours a week and on call 24/7. Each Tenant is given a wireless call light when they move in. This is how they communicate to the staff that they need assistance. The devices can also be used to monitor wandering concerns.

When a Tenant moves into the facility a Service Plan is developed in conjunction with them to establish what daily tasks the Tenant wants assistance with, how often they want assistance and from whom do they want to receive that assistance from. The Service Plan is developed under the direction of each Tenant; we only help with what they want, no more no less. Weekly laundry and housekeeping are included in the tenant's monthly rent as well.

Besides our newly built Prairie View Inn our campus offers another selection of licensed assisted living rooms called Prairie View Suites.

Prairie View Suites is literally a one of a kind unique assisted living area consisting of 6 studio apartments located within our skilled nursing home. Licensed as an assisted living Prairie View Suite Tenants have the freedom that standard assisted livings offer, but are staffed with licensed nurses and certified nurse aides twenty-four hours a day seven days a week! That's right you have a nurse delivering your care, something no other assisted living in the area can offer. Prairie View Suites is ideal for a tenant who may be close to no longer qualifying for an assisted living program due to health or an individual who needs the supervision of a nurse on a daily basis.

Prairie View Suites offers all of the amenities of Prairie View Inn; activities, restaurant-style dining, open dining, social rooms, call lights, beauty shop, etc., but it also offers more care if that is what the Tenant is needing or wants.

The studio apartments are located in the east wing of Prairie View Home and consist of a large open bedroom/living room area, large closet and private bathroom. Prairie View Suite Tenants are able to enjoy the use of the facilities whirlpool as well, something that always feels good. The apartments, like Prairie View Inn are unfurnished allowing the Tenants to make it their own little home with their own personal belongings from home.

Prairie View Suites is ideal for individuals who still qualify for assisted living programs, but have a lower acuity or for individual who simply like having that nurse around.
